**Nine Candles** (South) is a live roleplaying game based on the popular tragic horror tabletop game Ten Candles. 

It will be run over a day and a half during the weekend of **28th-30th November 2025**, at the Peckwood Centre. You will take on the roles of modern-day people who, by fortune or by fate, have made their way to this small camp after the sun went out and THEY began to infest the darkness that swept over the world.

This game will have 18 player spaces. The refteam is Cameron Alsop, Rebecca Barton, Charlotte Naylor and Leah Tardivel. The refteam can be contacted at the email [[gm@ninecandles.oxfordlarp.com]].

Ticket cost for the weekend with catering and indoor sleeping is £70 full price, £40 concession or £100 for supporter tickets. Concessions will be available for students, people whose primary source of income is state benefits (or who have no/very little income due to ineligibility for such benefits).

===Is this game for me?===

Nine Candles is a collaborative storytelling game. The narrative is not fixed, and players will have direct inputs throughout the game to shape the way the story plays out through [[format#truths|speaking truths]].

Nine Candles is a horror LARP. [[format#character death|All characters will die]] over the course of the game. However this game is not a combat game, and your death will be decided by when you feel it makes sense for your character to do so. This is a game about introspection, what your character will do when faced with hopeless odds at the end of the world.
